About the SCCGA

The primary purpose of the Santee Cooper Country Guides Association is to promote fisheries management and conservation of resources on the Santee Cooper Lakes, and to promote co-operative partnerships among these professional guides, public and private sector organizations, businesses, corporations and individuals supportive of the goals and objectives of the association.

These goals and many of our objectives are shared by other professional guides associations throughout the country, and we are proud to support and adhere to them on our world famous fishing lakes. For full details on all the goals and objectives of this association, you are encouraged to visit the Constitution pages on this website.

My first trip to Santee Cooper was in 1970 and I fell in love with the area. My wife and I bought a fishing resort on the Diversion Canal between Lakes Marion and Moultrie in 1974 and in 1975 I applied for and after testing I received my US Coast Guard license. I have been guiding continuously on the Lakes ever since and in 2004 I established a booking service, Santee Cooper Charters. My guides and I fish for all the species in the lakes and for Seatrout and Redfish on the Saltwater side. You can view my website at: www.santeecoopercharters.com
